The international phone code to call to Latvia is +371. To call to other countries from Latvia dial 00 and then the corresponding code of the country you are calling to.

There are three mobile phone operators in Latvia: LMT, TELE2 and BITE. All operators offer pay-as-you-go phones and SIM cards which are widely available in kiosks and supermarkets, and, moreover, are easy to use.

If you wish to call from a fixed phone use the pay phones of the Latvian national phone company (Lattelecom) with a special phone card which you can get at newspaper kiosks, post offices, and some stores. In some places it is possible to call paying with coins.
