1. RIGA – Capital & “Pearl of the Baltic States”
The capital of Latvia, Riga, is the most famous of all cities in Latvia. It is nestled on the southern shore of Riga Bay near the mouth of the Daugava River. Riga International Airport is located only 10 kilometers in the south-west of Riga’ s city centre. Taxi from the airport to the center takes about 15 minutes and costs about 12 Euros. Bus number 22 ( stops opposite the bus station near the Old Town) every 10-20 minutes. for only 2 Euros.

2. SIGULDA – gate to “Gauja National Parc”
SIGULDA is one of the most beautiful cities of Latvia. The town with about 11,000 inhabitants is located 50 km in the north-east of Riga in the valley of the Gauja River. This area of adorable nature is called the “Latvian Switzerland”. Sigulda is located at the south-western tip of the biggest national park of Latvia, the famous “Gauja National Park”.

3. CESIS – beautiful Hanseatic City
CESIS is a city in Latvia which is located in northern Latvia. It lies on hills and terraces above the Gauja River at the northern exit of the Gauja National Park.
CESIS has its origins in the early 13th century. The Ordensburg, which is centrally located and surrounded by a beautiful park, dates from this period. Explore the interior of the complex, which has two massive and well-preserved towers at the front… CESIS’ location on the Gauja River and on the Riga-Pleskow trade route promoted rapid development into a flourishing trading town. In the 14th century, Cēsis joined the Hanseatic League.
CESIS Old City and the well-preserved ruins of Livonian Order’s castle are very beautiful and worth a visit! Perhaps the most exciting of the cities in Latvia!
4. JURMALA – Seaside Resort for families
JURMALA with it’s 25km of fine, white sandy beaches, is only 10km from RIGA, the biggest of the cities in Latvia. Jurmala is a popular holiday destination for the financial and political elite of the Baltics and Russians and a weekend paradise especially for the rich and beautiful of Riga. Many hotels, restaurants, cafes and little shops invite to stroll and linger. The promenades are the catwalks of the rich and beautiful. Souvenir shops offer all kinds of souvenirs, especially amber, the gold of the Baltic Sea. Worth seeing are the bright and friendly wooden villas from the turn of the 20th century, which were built in Art Nouveau style.In the district of Ķemeri there are sulphurous medicinal springs and healing mud.
In summer you can take a train from Jūrmala to Riga every 30 minutes. It takes only 30 minutes.
